Welding Fundamentals

Students  will learn welding safety, shop tools, proper machine setup as well as foundational techniques for one or more of the following welding processes. Students may choose one or all of the following: gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, and flux cored arc welding, Oxyfuel cutting and / or plasma arc cutting.  Students will apply the skills learned to complete a project.

Notice

Please read:  Students will need a welding helmet, minimum shade 9, gloves, long sleeves, safety glasses, pants and appropriate foot wear. A shade 5 or 6 will be needed if the student wants to braze or oxyfuel cut. Some welding helmets have a shade 5 - 6, otherwise glasses or a face shield will be necessary.
